When we are uncomfortable, the tendency of the mind is to "get busy" changing the situation.... Whether its an uncomfortable pose, or an uncomfortable practice, or an uncomfortable life situation. Sometimes when we try to force change, we are just reinforcing the habits of mind that got us there in the first place. Yoga practice is a way to challenge the typical states of mind and the habitual responses. Sometimes the best way to "change" a situation is to sit with it, is to be still and go inward, lean into the place that's uncomfortable. Just by responding differently from our instincts we change ourselves which changes our perception of the world around us.
