Giving Thanks Retreat 2021!
the 29th Annual
Jivamukti Yoga Giving Thanks Retreat
with Jessica Stickler & Guest Teachers
We are very excited to offer the Giving Thanks Retreat this year with a virtual option — there are a few spots for those who wish to come to the Ashram and stay and learn in person, and there will also be the option to learn remotely.
Thursday, Nov 25th - Sunday, Nov 28th
Location: Ananda Ashram, 13 Sapphire Road, Monroe
(Options for remote study below)
Last year was the first and only year that we’ve not held the annual Giving Thanks retreat. This year we are offering a remote learning option, together we can nourish our practice, cultivate gratitude, and ground ourselves in community and tradition. Join Advanced Jivamukti Teacher, Jessica Stickler for this four-day retreat to study, reconnect, reflect, and relax. Through yoga asana, meditation, and yoga philosophy we will explore the themes of nourishment, gratitude, and service to reveal the meaning of these themes in our lives. How do we nourish ourselves, how do we cultivate gratitude, and what does it mean to be of service to others, and how can we take effective action in our lives and in the lives of others.
The 29th Annual Jivamukti Giving Thanks Retreat. Be a part of this long-standing Jivamukti tradition, and experience the foundations of Jivamukti by visiting the place it was born! Ananda Ashram was founded by Shri Brahmananda Saraswati who was the guru (teacher) of Jivamukti Yoga founders Sharon Gannon and David Life.
This retreat offers a unique experience to truly immerse in the classical studies of yoga. Each day students have the option to join traditional morning fire ceremony, meditation, sanskrit lessons, as well as Jivamukti Yoga classes. Take time to relax by the lake, or take a rejuvinating walk through nature. Vegan meals are served freshly prepared by the Ashram.
In keeping with last year’s tradition, Jessica will be donating a portion of the proceeds to a charitable cause.
Past year’s proceeds have benefited:
2016 - Southern Poverty Law Center
2017 - Honor the Earth
2018 - Indigenous Women’s Resource Center
2019 - Amazon Watch
