Podcast #47 - Fed Up
We've come to yoga class because we've tried everything else. The culture has told us what to what to wear, what to eat, who to love, how to love, what to buy. All on the premise that these things will bring us happiness. Each new consumer item has built within it, that momentary happiness. The very next nanosecond, it begins its slow decline towards breaking, getting lost, being obsolete, and otherwise spirals towards the inevitable unhappiness.
Our entire culture prays on the idea that outside things will make us happy.
We're in a yoga classroom because we've seen through the veil of the cycle of attachment and its inevitable suffering, and we're ready to try something completely different, we're ready to do something radical! We're ready to found our worldview on the idea that happiness is the essence of our being, of our humanity. Something to be uncovered or revealed deep within ourselves, not bought, sold, or traded. That all we need to do is get so fed up with our unhappiness that we throw it off to make room for our innate grace, wisdom, compassion, love, and light to shine through.
A NOTE ON THE PRACTICE:
This class involves some partner work. If you can find a friend to practice this class with, that is ideal! However, if you are practicing alone, don't despair... just keep practicing the same set of "hops" at the wall that we work on throughout the practice, soon they'll be easy-peasy.
