Let us gather together and nourish our practice, cultivate gratitude, and ground ourselves in community and tradition. Join Advanced Jivamukti Teacher Jessica Stickler for this four-day retreat to study, reconnect, reflect, and relax. Through yoga asana, meditation, and yoga philosophy, we will explore the themes of nourishment, gratitude, and service to reveal the meaning of these themes in our lives. How do we nourish ourselves, how do we cultivate gratitude, what does it mean to be of service to others, and how can we take effective action in our lives and in the lives of others?
The 26h Annual Jivamukti Giving Thanks Retreat is a longstanding Jivamukti tradition. Come experience the foundations of Jivamukti by visiting the place it was born! Ananda Ashram was founded by Shri Brahmananda Saraswati, who was the guru (teacher) of Jivamukti Yoga founders Sharon Gannon and David Life.
This retreat offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the classical studies of yoga. Each day, students have the option to join a traditional morning fire ceremony, meditation, or Sanskrit lessons, as well as Jivamukti Yoga classes. Relax by the lake or take a rejuvenating walk through nature during your free time. The ashram provides freshly prepared vegan meals..
In keeping with last year’s tradition, Jessica will be donating a portion of the proceeds to a charitable cause. Last year, she was able to give a large donation to Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization devoted to ending hate crimes and violent ideologies.
About Jessica Stickler:
Jessica has been teaching Jivamukti Yoga internationally since 2008, and serves as a mentor for teachers in the Apprenticeship Program in NYC. She loves to teach a wide range of students, from beginners through advanced practitioners, and has worked closely with those who are recovering from injury. Her classes incorporate dynamic movement and choreographic sequencing, with special attention to alignment and modification options. Classes are infused with inspiring music, meditation, and spiritual teachings. Political activism and service to others were two attributes of Jivamukti Yoga to which Jessica was initially attracted; she considers spiritual activism a central part of her personal practice.
