My Favorite Vegan Resources

The book that changed everything for me was “Diet for a New America” by John Robbins. This classic was one of a few books that we were able to choose from to prepare for the Jivamukti Teacher Training. In those days, Sharon’s wonderful, Yoga and Vegetarianism wasn’t yet published. So, from a list of three or four books, John Robbins happened to be the one I chose. I knew in my heart after a few chapters, that I would become vegan. Once I started learning more, I just knew that eating animals was not in alignment with my innermost values. On so many levels, environmentally, human rights, animal well being, corporate greed, pollution….. there were just too many reasons not to keep eating meat and dairy and only one reason to continue which was personal taste. In those early years, I felt that it would be important for me to continue learning about these issues — not only to affirm my own beliefs but also to be able to talk to other people about it — so for a while I watched and read as much as I could…. Here’s a collection of my favorite resources, please comment yours below if I’ve left anything out.
